  18. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:

The beaches and coastline. This small island really is a "get away from it all" place with an absolutely perfect paradise called Sandy Island (you will find a number of 'Sandy Islands' throughout the Caribbean). This is an islet of pristine beach and palm trees (13, we counted) just off the northern coastline. Bring your own picnic basket, camera and sunscreen.

  21. ACCESS TO BEACH:
  22. Boat access only - with plenty of launches for hire from the village of Sandy Ground. You can use the top of the cliff as a lookout point only but unless you are a mountain goat there is no easy access down this cliff. Occasionally someone throws a rope to the beach, but this method is not recommended - especially since we noted the remnants of frayed rope ending halfway down.

  25. QUALITY OF BEACH:
  26. Classic deserted small cove with calm crystalline water surrounded by towering cliffs on three sides.

  28. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
  29. There are many charter boat operators in the village of Sandy Ground that can offer trips to either Little Bay or Sandy Island. Bring water, plenty of sunscreen and book a time for the boat to return for your pickup from paradise.
